Cowboys Wife Wisdom
The other day CW and I got home from our date day, which was amazing! Let me just tell you that if you don't do those, you most definitely should because it's even better than a date night. Anyways, we had received a call from our neighbors that we had a bull out and that they had shut our gates so he'd at least stay in our front area. So, we get home to see him just laying around right outside the gate again for the third time. He obviously knew the routine at this point. Get up, wait for us to open the gate then run right back in there to try and find another way out the next day. What's up with that, does he think this is a game or something, what's so great on the other side of the fence. I started to ponder about this because it had happened now numerous times last week. It made me think of that saying "the grass is always greener on the other side". I'd always heard that but never really looked into the full meaning of it other than what I already knew, so I used the famous "google" to figure it out. It says that we often think that the grass is greener on the other side like our circumstances seem more desirable than one's own but in reality are often not. Hmmm! How true is that second part. How many times have you honestly looked at something else of someones and thought, I want that or I wish I had that and were so focused on what they have whether it be material things, their relationships such as friendships and marriages, the favor they have with people ect. Although we may think there is something greater on the other side, there really isn't. I feel like personally sometimes what I think looks greener is actually an illusion. I start to look at it and from my flesh it looks desirable, but when you really look into it, it's not. It can be deceiving and look like it's something that it's not! I then saw this picture and thought "that makes sense to me"!
This all depends on where your investing your time and what your investing it into. Water what you already have and God will grow it from there! The enemy puts things in front of us to try to get us to stumble but Gods hand is right there reaching down to us saying, nope, come along this way! I saw someone recently post this on Facebook. Think about this… The enemy wouldn't be attacking you if something VERY valuable wasn't inside of you! Thieves don't just break into empty houses. YOU got a purpose!
You are strong and you are beautiful! Have a great day and water what you got!
