Cowboy Wife Wisdom: Pick A Side!
I'm pretty sure my pastor preached a message along the lines of these words a few years back. He was talking about how if you're trying to live for God but also live for the world you're gonna get slammed on your face because you can't serve both. I really took this to heart because at the time I was still wanting to have a lot of what I thought was "fun" according to the world's standards, but I wanted to also be the good Christian girl that went to church on Sunday and said, "God bless you" to everyone I met. I guess that's what you'd call a hypocrite, right? But time after time I'd feel so run down and tired of trying to keep up with the world. No matter what I did, all of that junk just wasn't enough to fulfill me. So I quit it all and decided to pick a side of the fence and I chose God's side. You may be asking, "Is it really that black and white?" Yes, it is! And guess what? I'm having more fun now than I ever did before when I was living for the world. I wake up each morning feeling loved not only by my family but by my God! Plus, I 'm free of guilt!
So I want to encourage you to pick a side. If you've been riding the fence for a while now and you feel like you're getting no where, maybe God's asking you to step out and trust Him. He's more adventurous than any mountain trail and He can give you more adrenaline rushes than any daredevil stunt that you can come up with. Plus, He promises to never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5).
I hope you know that I say this out of complete love because I have been there!
Much love,
Cooped Up Mama Candace
