Cooped Up Pinning

The weather here in Colorado is supposed to be changing.  We've been blessed with some pretty great weather lately in spite of it being February.  But according to the all-so-accurate weather people, a big storm is a brewing.  Excuse my sarcasm, but they haven't been getting it right a whole lot lately.  But just to be ready, I've got plenty of fire wood stacked under the porch, chicken tortilla soup in the slow cooker and some really great books and movies to keep us company...and of course Pinterest!  Can I get an "AMEN" from my women readers?  I just wanted to share some of the beauties Kirste and I have been pinning lately.  Make sure to follow us, click here!  Oh and we're on Twitter now too, you can find us here at @coopedupmamas. So I broke down and bought this kimono last week because I saw it on my Instagram and it's named after my 2nd born, so what could be better than that?  I can't wait for it to get here because I think it will go with just about everything in my closet.  Isn't that what you would call a "good fashion investment?"  The shop I got it from is called Savannah Sevens and I'm in love with almost everything they carry!

Another style that I'm crazy about is the big concho belts.  These were in style when I was in high school and then went out and I'm super excited to see that they're coming back in.  Plus, I love Adrian Brannan "Buckaroogirl," she's got a great blog and writes and sings her own music.  Such a stylish, salt-of-the-earth cowgirl.  Check out her blog here.

This is what's sitting in my slow cooker as we speak.  I haven't tried this recipe yet, so I'm praying it turns out good to finish off this snow day.  You can find this recipe here.  Also, if you have any good snow day recipes, let us know in our comments!

My daddy's birthday was this week and this is his favorite kind of cookie.  I usually just take the easy route and by them for him at the cookie shop in town, but this year I was feeling very Betty Crocker and made them myself using this recipe.  They were divine!  I highly recommend this if you looking for a good chocolate chip oatmeal cookie recipe.

Kirste and I were given some really cool rusted up tin this week from one of my precious neighbors.  I love a neighbor who thinks of us when he's getting ready to throw away his trash, haha!  One man's trash is a cooped up mama's treasure, right?  So anyways, I would like to try something like this with it.
