Workout Wednesday
Where does your strength come from? My strength ultimately comes first hand from the Lord, then my capacity to physically be able to do something. The thing about strength is that we all can be at different levels of strength at different times. While one person may only be able to do one pull up, another may be able to do ten. There is no right or wrong! We all achieve different levels of strength at different times, and really one persons strength is not greater than another's! So, I encourage you to not look at someone else's strength as your failure not being able to do something yet, but as a goal to work towards that strength. Heres part of today's strength builder for yourself!
Using a chair, or "pallet" hold your body weight up with either your legs straight out or your knees bended up. Go from straight arm to down position working your triceps. Do 3 sets of these with 10-15 reps in each set!
As we all know that Kirste has issues falling off the body ball sometimes so please be careful if your like me getting your balance on the ball first! With your legs straight out, and your hands on the floor to help keep your balance, tuck in your legs towards your chest. Straighten them back out keeping your bottom off the floor and your hips lifted up. You will feel this in the backs of your legs and your core. Do 3 sets of these 20 reps each time.
Stand on your head because that's always fun… then your hands! Gaining strength, definitely at my own pace!
At the end of our workouts when we do our "mommy workouts", I love jumping up and swinging/pulling myself up on these rings. It honestly brings back memories from gymnastics! I would love to gain more strength in being able to pull myself up consistently on the rings. Also I would love to walk across the gym floor by the end of the year on my hands! That's my goal, whats yours? Where is your strength now and where would you like to be? Evaluate it and come up with a goal and stick with it. Most importantly though, allow yourself time to reach that goal and don't let yourself get discouraged!
Here's just a fun picture of my boys from after our workout the other night! Traycer loves being able to put on the boxing gloves and box with daddy! The kid can literally hit pretty hard! Love them!
Till next time,
