Light Shine Bright: Here I Am

Here I am.

I am a child of God. I am chosen. I am called. I am beautiful as I am. I am gifted and talented. I am kindhearted and gentle. But most importantly, I am ALL that HE says that I am, a daughter of the most High King.

I was sitting with my guitar in hand in my quiet time listening to God when he started knitting these words together. I pray they speak to you as they spoke to me that morning that He downloaded His heartbeat into music to speak to my heart.

Here I am, me!

Flawed, but beautiful.

Weak on my own, but strong through Him.

Once lost, but now found; redeemed and restored through His grace and mercy.

Here I am.

The real me.

A past; living in the moment of the present, but pursuing the future.

I am who HE says I am, a child marked by His love.

It’s easy doing literally everything that everyone else is doing, or so we think. Trust me, I’ve been there. Been the girl who suddenly was in pursuit of becoming more of “me," but not the “me” that God intended.

The passion and pursuit of "me" has at points been stronger than the will that God has for me. Placing my desires above His desires for myself and, might I add... not for the right reasons or motives.

It’s easy to manipulate any situation, and even an audience. But, what I have also found out, is that it’s just as easy to manipulate myself.

Right now you're probably questioning yourself by saying, “Have I done this?!? Has this been me?” Let’s be real and ask ourselves this very question:

Have you ever posted a picture for the sole purpose of just getting likes? (I think everyone can say "yes to this one!")

Take it one step further. Have you ever posted a picture to get likes that compromises who you are or what you stand for, just so that someone would notice?

Guilty, and um guilty here. I have. I have been there. It’s easy to do, right? So, instead of focusing on what you have willingly done to promote yourself, let’s talk about how you can just BE YOU! The YOU without compromising who you are and not trying to draw notice of yourself in the wrong way.

God created YOU! He knew you before you were born. He fashioned you and knit you together in your mother’s womb. He knew you then and He still knows you now. You may have thought that He didn’t recognize you anymore because of your “lack" of YOU, but I’m here to tell you, He still knows you. He’s always been there and has never left your side.

When you questioned who you were and posted anyways not knowing your identity, He was there. When you went against the grain of what you knew was right, He was there!

He wants you to know, He’s there and He’s there in EVERYTHING that you are doing. He wants to use you as you are. Not perfect, but in pursuit of excellence. Not physically naked, but being raw and naked of who He created you to be.

There’s no one that you can be, and there’s not one person that can be you. You are the ONLY one of you that God made. So, take the challenge with us. Behold who you are and who He created you to be, and BECOME all that He has made you for!

It looks like this. Psalm 12:6 says, “For every word God speaks is sure and every promise pure. His truth is tested, found to be flawless, and ever faithful. It’s as pure as silver refined seven times in a crucible of clay.”
