The Blessing Ring

Some of the most precious gifts I've ever received have always been the most personalized.  When someone takes the time to put extra thought and care into blessing someone else's life, there's really nothing like it.  In my church, there's one particular woman who has the gift of creating the most personalized and loving gifts and I've been able to receive a few of them.

This last week she sought me out and handed me a "A Blessing Ring." I've never heard of this idea before but she said she had found the idea on Pinterest. It consists of a ring (my search showed me that you can pick it up at Hobby Lobby in the sewing section), some pretty ribbons for flare, the Blessing Ring Poem (find here) and your own personal note to the person to start it off.  My personal note was filled with little sayings and scriptures that my friend had found that she thought applied to me.  I just love it!  The point is that you're to add any tokens, Bible verses, pictures, or other trinkets that are special to you and then hang it on a door knob in your house.  On Pinterest, I saw people creating them at baby & wedding showers and even for those battling cancer. There's just something about knowing that others are thinking are of you that makes you feel better.  It's hard to fathom, but even the God of the universe thinks about you! Psalm 139:17-18 in the NLT states, "How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can't even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!"

How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! I can’t even count them; they outnumber the grains of sand! And when I wake up, you are still with me!
— Psalm 139:17-18 NLT

Many of the gifts that this woman has given me are so special to me that I've placed in spots that I'll see everyday.  She's given me cards that have beautiful quotes on them which I've placed on my fridge or bathroom mirror and some book marks that I keep in my Bible and devotionals.  Every time I see them I'm reminded of what those words say about me and especially what God says about me.

So I'll just leave you with this, even the smallest & simplest things can mean the most when you put your heart into it.  I'd say pray about it and let God lead you to the person that He wants to bless through you, just ask and be obedient.

God bless and be a blessing today!
